What role does make-up have in making a girl sexually attractive to guys?

I am a pretty girl by average standards but don’t like wearing too much makeup because it is quite time consuming and I like to be as I am naturally. My friend on the other hand is not as good looking but dons a lot of make-up and cosmetics and I find that more guys would look at her rather than me in the street.
So, is it that guys find girls with make-up more sexually arousing and attractive and why? I mean, isn’t the body supposed to be all that matters?

None at all for me, I don’t like girls who wear too much make up I prefer women who are au natural!

I’m just going to take a random stab at this one. Make-up was once seen as a bad thing because it was mostly worn by prostitutes. Obviously today that is no longer the case but make-up does make a woman look more sexually available. By putting make-up on they bring attention to their features (eyes, lips, cheeks) and that catches men’s attention. Not only that, but by wearing make-up one could deduce that a woman is trying to be noticed and would be more likely to respond to a man then a woman who wears no make-up (not trying to attract attention). By no way is this the case in every situation or in everyone point of view but I think it makes sense. You can always test it out by throwing on some make-up when you’re hanging out with your friend to see if eyes start locking on you.

According to some makeup is supposed to mimic a women when she’s in a state of arousal.
When people are sexually aroused blood flows to the surface of the body and lips get redder and pupils dilate that’s what lip stick and eye makeup mimic. If a girl is showing these signs even though they are artificial in the case of makeup then some men will subconsciously respond according to what these people believe.
It’s much like them monkeys with the big red bottoms displaying to the males that they are ready for sex.

Make up is often a turn off. Men aren’t as interested in how well you can paint and powder your face as they are in you! I’m more visually attracted to a fit body, than to make up. A fresh washed plain face on a healthy firm body wins every time over the “war paint”.

Men always say they like women natural, but then they always drool over the women that wear tons of it. There are ways to wear makeup to cover flaws and still look really natural. That’s how you know you are wearing good cosmetics and have FINALLY mastered the true art of makeup application.
