Because I said so.
No one knows when Jesus will come back, and no one can begin to guess. The Bible says He will come like a thief in the night, when no one is expecting him.
Because common sense says so. Wait for the sun to take action in about 4 billion years, and then you’ll know our time is up.
1. The world had been ‘coming to an end’ on numerous occasions. It hasn’t yet, so why worry now?
The world won’t end on 12/21/12.
The world-as-we-know-it will end on 12/21/12.
This is a good thing, people….
A lot of things? You mean, ONE OUTDATED CALENDAR MADE BY PRIMITIVES!
Because the people that wrote or had a premonition that it would end, are human. And humans can sometimes lie. No one can believe everything they hear.
i don’t think it won’t personally because i believe in the bible, and in revelation it says that no man will know when the world will end
but i guess we’ll see
REmember Y2K? That is why I don’t believe it.
um, i dunno, logic?
There’s *nothing* that stands up to any cool logical thought.
Are we cross-breeding humans with headless chickens, these days?
Some days it seems like it.
So many failed end-of-the-world scares…
So many false and misleading statements and myths.
See below.
nothing is pointing to the world ending then
its the end of a freaking calander made a long time ago
there isn’t a new one because there is no one to MAKE IT!
My Microsoft Windows Calendar goes up to 2099. Therefore the world will not end in 2012.
Beat that logic. Nah nah.
That’s when the Mayan calender stops. That doesn’t mean the whole world will end.
Because Y2K did not happen either, but at least this time around I do see quite a few convincing arguments.
There are always a lot of things pointing to the end. Jesus said no man knows the day or the hour.. so I personally guarantee that the world will not end on Dec 21 2012. I did the same guarantee in the months prior to 6/6/66, 7/7/77and the infamous 9/9/99. For some reason few predicted any end of the world in 8/8/88.
I think the fact that morons came up with that theory is a pretty good start as to why the world isn’t ending in 2012.
No one knows when Jesus is returning, we don’t know the day, month, year or anything, but there are points that we should be looking for. I’m learning about all this prophecy and stuff in church right now. One way you can tell is if a temple is being made in Isreal. Because once the Temple is made the false prophet will arrive and then you can start worrying.
But if your saved, then Amen. We will be in heavne even sooner.
Because no where in the book of Revelation says that.. he will be here when he comes.. i am ready!
“saved by his grace” gets my thumbs up. Exactly.
Just like how the world ended with Y2K…..it’s a miracle any of us survived. C’mon….
this is a RIDICULOUS question.
If you believe the bible to be true (which i do) I don’t believe the world ending in 2012 be true because in the book of Revelation it says that the Antichrist will come to power 7 YEARS. Then the world will be destroyed after the 7 years of tribulation along with Satan and all evil. It’s 2008, 4 years before 2012 and no Antichrist meaning that the 7 years have not started. When those 7 years of tribulation start that means the world ends in 7 years.
The bible says no one knows the day or hour.
First off, what things point that the world will end?
The world will end -for me – the day I die. That day could be tomorrow…
Don’t get stuck on a certain date; you may miss out on things worthwhile.
when i hear the world will end I think, boom big explosion no more earth, not the everyone will die on earth. so unless a meteor hits or something I kinda doubt it will be gone. everyone will fall asleep on the 21 and wake up on the 22 unchanged. just like Y2K
The most obvious one: Jesus said no-one knows the day nor hour. Which means it probably wont be on that day.
No proof.
One of several Mayan calendars is the Long Count calendar, which is reset to day 0 every 1,872,000 days or 7057.5 years. The next reset date, by some calculations, is December 21, 2012. This is not a prediction of the end of the world.
Ever since the Y2K and 6/6/6 (June 6, 2006) End of the World scenarios did not pan out, the scare mongers, conspiracy theorists, book sellers, and television executives have been touting the 2012 End of the World scenario. When 2012 does not happen either, I am sure they will think of something else.
“But of that day or hour, no one knows, neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be watchful! Be alert! You do not know when the time will come.” (Mark 13:32-33)
Jesus told us in no uncertain terms that we were not to know when the end of the world would come but that we were always to be ready.
The early Christian Church thought that Jesus was going to return at any moment. Only after a couple of centuries did the Church realize that it may be 2,000 or 4,000 or 8,000 years before Jesus returns.
The Catholic Church wisely follows Jesus’ advice and teaches that each of us should live as if we will meet our maker in the next ten minutes and that we need to work to make the world a better place for our 100 X great-grandchildren.
Do not worry about the end of the world. Trust God to make sure everything happens to plan. Just be ready to meet God at any time.

With love in Christ.
I am curious about this too… Half of me think its fake, another half of me think its real. I think it is fake because of the Mayan Calendar. I mean the Mayan believed human sacrifice and gods. Its so fake. And they think the world will end in December 21 2012. So i think its kinda fake. I also think it is real because of the science. Scientist has collected informations that the sun is either growing bigger or coming to Earth closer. If its bigger it still will hit the Earth. If its coming to Earth near, it will crash the Earth. I am very scared of this….
